How to Make the Most of Everyday Moments

In this week’s Free Lance-Star column I share how watching old home videos over the holidays led me to choose my “one word” for 2014.  Oh, and I also learned that I should never ever dye my hair blonde and get a perm ever again.  I may or may not have looked like this:

What is your one word for the year?  What are your goals for the new year?  I would love to hear from you.

Kindness is my one word. With God’s help it will show up not so much it what I say and do but HOW I say and do things. The exact same words and actions can have a completely opposite meaning and effect depending on attitude. So fixing something or agreeing to help someone becomes a blessing and not a “frustration” or “burden” for both parties.
